Effective 25-07-26 · The Indian Darzee

This policy explains what personal information The Indian Darzee collects when you request a fitting, place an order or use our website, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We keep the list of what we hold deliberately short — a tailor only needs what it takes to make something that fits you.

01

Who we are

The Indian Darzee (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a made-to-measure menswear label operated by The Indian Darzee , with its registered office at , Gurugram, Haryana, India. We are the data fiduciary responsible for the personal data described in this policy under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the “DPDP Act”).

If you have any question about this policy or how we handle your data, you can reach us at contact@theindiandarzee.com.

02

Information we collect

We collect the following, and only for the purposes set out in this policy:

  • Contact details — your name, WhatsApp number, email address, and the company or office you work at, when you book a fitting or place an order.
  • Delivery details — the office or home address where you’d like your order delivered.
  • Body measurements — the measurements our tailor takes to draft your garment. See section 03, which covers these specifically.
  • Order details — the cuts, fabrics and finishes you choose, and your order history with us.
  • Payment information — payments are processed by our payment provider; we receive confirmation of payment but do not store your full card or bank details.
  • Website usage — basic technical data such as device type, browser and pages viewed, collected through cookies and analytics (section 06).
03

Your measurements

Because we make clothing to fit you, we record body measurements and fit preferences. We treat these as sensitive to you and hold them with the same care as your contact details.

With your consent, we save your measurements to your profile so that your next order can be placed over a message without a repeat fitting. You can ask us to delete your saved measurements at any time — see section 10. If you’d prefer we do not store them beyond your current order, tell us and we will use them only to complete that order and then remove them.

04

How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Arrange and carry out your fitting, at your office or ours;
  • Draft, stitch and deliver your order, and handle any alterations;
  • Contact you about your order, mainly over WhatsApp;
  • Let you reorder easily using your saved measurements;
  • Take payment and keep records required by law, such as tax and accounting records;
  • Improve our fit, fabrics and service; and
  • With your consent, send you occasional updates about new cloth or cuts. You can opt out at any time.

We rely on your consent, on the need to perform our contract with you (making and delivering your order), and on our legitimate interest in running and improving the business, as the legal bases for this processing.

05

WhatsApp & messaging

Most of our conversation with you happens on WhatsApp — booking a fitting, sharing fabric options, confirming your order and arranging delivery. When you message us, your number and the contents of that chat are processed to serve you. WhatsApp is operated by Meta, and your use of it is also governed by Meta’s own privacy terms, which we don’t control.

We use your WhatsApp number to reply to you and to update you about your order. We will only send you promotional messages if you’ve agreed to receive them, and you can tell us to stop at any time.

06

Cookies & analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, understand how it’s used, and measure our advertising.

  • Essential cookies keep the website functioning and can’t be switched off.
  • Analytics (for example, Google Analytics) help us see which pages are useful, in aggregate.
  • Advertising — we run ads on Meta (Facebook and Instagram). The Meta Pixel and similar tools help us show relevant ads and measure whether they work. These may set cookies and share limited data with Meta.

You can control cookies through your browser settings and manage ad preferences within Facebook and Instagram. Blocking some cookies may affect how the site works.

07

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with parties who help us serve you, and only to the extent they need it:

  • Our tailors and production partners, to cut and stitch your order;
  • Delivery partners, to bring your order to you;
  • Payment providers, to process payments securely;
  • Technology providers, such as our website, messaging, analytics and advertising tools; and
  • Authorities or advisers, where we are required to by law, or to protect our rights.

Where a partner processes data on our behalf, we ask them to protect it and use it only for the purpose we’ve agreed. Some of these providers may process data outside India; where they do, we take reasonable steps for it to remain protected.

08

How long we keep it

We keep your information only as long as we need it for the purposes above. Your measurements and order history are kept so you can reorder, until you ask us to delete them. Records we’re legally required to keep, such as tax and payment records, are retained for the period the law requires. When we no longer need your data, we delete it or make it anonymous.

09

How we protect it

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to keep your data safe and to limit who inside our team can see it. If a data breach affects you, we will act as required under the DPDP Act.

10

Your rights

Under the DPDP Act, you have the right to:

  • Access — ask what personal data of yours we hold and how we use it;
  • Correction — have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected or updated;
  • Erasure — ask us to delete your data, including your saved measurements, where we’re not required to keep it;
  • Withdraw consent — where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time, which won’t affect processing already carried out;
  • Grievance redressal — raise a concern with us and have it addressed; and
  • Nominate — nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity.

To exercise any of these, contact us using the details in section 13. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.

11

Our products and website are meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us their information, please contact us and we will delete it.

12
